Temirzhan Yerzhanov is a recognized expert in vocal and opera music who has worked with more than 100 singers on the concert stage and in preparation for productions. These singers include sopranos Elena Kelessidi, Melody Moore and Maïra Kerey, mezzo-sopranos Catherine Cook and Cybele Gouverneur, baritone Daniel Cilli, bass Sergey Zadvorny, male alto Erik Kurmangaliev and many others.
He has collaborated with regional opera companies—such as Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, Walnut Creek Festival Opera, Golden Gate Opera and California Opera—and has had conducting engagements with Opera Academy of California, Kazakh State Symphony & Chorus, Opera Cultura where he is the Music Director.
Temirzhan studied vocal and opera accompaniment with Vazha Chachava, a distinguished Georgian pianist and professor at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and long-life music partner of the great mezzo-soprano Elena Obraztsova. Called “one of the finest concert accompanists in the nation” by Russia’s leading music magazine, Muzykalnaya Zhizn, Temirzhan won Best Accompanist awards at the Tchaikovsky International and Elena Obraztsova Opera Singers international competitions.
Temirzhan offers individual coaching in a wide range of repertoire (opera, operetta, musical, art songs and lied) in all standard languages (Italian, Russian, German, French, English and Spanish). If desired, performances and services at auditions can be arranged by special request.
